June 17, 2019. For Immediate Release
Eric Stamps proudly launched his campaign for the 2019 elections for the Virginia House of Delegates, 14th District, in Danville, VA.
Born and raised in Danville, Eric has spent many years working to improve voter turnout and civic participation. While canvassing for various Democrats in 2018, Eric spoke to hundreds of families in the region who do not vote, and more importantly, believed that voting was a waste of time. He felt strongly that a democrat should run for delegate, and make the campaign as much about empowering the local community as it was about winning. When no one else stepped forward, Eric decided to run himself.
“I love this community. But less than 30% of registered voters in this community voted in the last State election. Less than 30%. We need to encourage the community to participate. To be involved, and to recognize the power they have to make the changes they want.”
Eric’s team is looking for volunteers and supporters. In addition, Eric is reaching out to community members for “kitchen table” conversations: small gatherings with community members discussing a topic of concern. If you would like to participate in or organize one of these events, please contact Robin Marcato at RobinM@ericstamps.com, for details.
Election day is Tuesday, November 5, 2019.
